This full day Peripheral Nerve Block Wetlab is a hands-on workshop designed for veterinary professionals who want to master regional anesthesia techniques of the head. Attendees will receive brief didactic training on local anesthetics and peripheral nerve block principles.  This will be followed by small groups working to locate nerves and surrounding structures, with expert guidance, on cadavers to enhance analgesic techniques for oral surgery patients, reducing reliance on opioid usage.  In addition to blocks useful for oral surgery patients, a limited number of interested participants will also be able to practice blocks for auricular surgeries (greater auricular/auriculotemporal block) or a sacrococcygeal epidural.    
 
Key Course Components:  
Techniques Covered: Common peripheral nerve blocks of the head for orofacial pain management.  Time allowing, interested candidates may gain brief exposure to additional peripheral nerve block techniques.  
 
Practical Application: Hands-on training with expert guidance to improve technical proficiency.  
 
Safety & Pharmacology: Review of local anesthetics and anatomical landmarks.
