Two-day hands on cadaveric advanced surgery experience. This course features in depth pre-recorded lectures to maximize your time in the lab, expanding your surgical skills. A strong emphasis will be placed on refining your surgical technique. All procedures will be demonstrated in the lab prior to participants performing them. Featured procedures include fore and hindlimb amputations, gastropexy,nephrectomy, diaphragmatic hernia repair, salivary gland removal, scrotal urethrostomy in the dog, perineal urethrostomy (PU) in the cat, and anal sacculectomy. We will also discuss basic skin reconstruction techniques and participants will have the opportunity to perform advancement flaps and caudal superficial epigastric flaps.
Esophagostomy tube and thoracostomy tube placement will also be reviewed.
